Darren Borden is currently employed as Energy Management Engineer for Weston Foods Canada Inc.  His responsibilities include business cost modeling of utilities vs production, capital project development and implementation, site coaching and mentoring, and industry networking (such as this event).

Darren began work with Weston Foods as a corporate engineer providing plant engineering support to four GTA processing plants.  He changed his job role in 2007 when senior leadership of Weston’s decided it was time for a dedicated resource to focus on cost savings. Darren has progressively added to his portfolio all 5 Weston business units covering 45 plants in North America; as well as related distribution warehousing.

Darren’s background prior to working for Weston Foods was with Woodbridge Foam Corp, in the automotive interiors industry.  While he implemented projects world-wide, he learned his culture of conservation.  He observed first hand pressures related to business operations in high cost and high volatility utility markets, and how management of these risks is key to success.

Darren brings to his job role 23yrs of progressive experience and holds a B.Eng. Mechanical Degree, with P.Eng and CEM designations.
